A self-introduction (자기소개, jagisogae) is the first thing you say in Korean class, at work and at interviews. Learn the key sentences, fill in your own details and tap each line to hear it.
Basic self-introduction sentences
이에요 or 예요?
After a consonant (a word with 받침): use 이에요 — 학생이에요, 린이에요.
After a vowel: use 예요 — 의사예요 (I'm a doctor), 에밀리예요.
The formal ending 입니다 works after any word: 학생입니다, 에밀리입니다.
