Status on Sep 24, 2026: registration for the 108th TOPIK (Oct 17) has closed at every US center. The next chance in most regions is the April 2027 test. The official 2027 schedule has not been announced yet — the 2026 plan was published in October 2025, so the 2027 plan is expected around the same time.
How to register for TOPIK in the US
Test takers in the US do not use the Korea-domestic application on topik.go.kr. Each region is run by a Korean Education Center (KEC) or Korean consulate, which publishes its own application form and deadline — usually in January for the April test and in July for the October test.
- Find the Korean Education Center that covers your state (Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, Houston, Atlanta, Washington DC…).
- Watch its notice board from early January (April test) or early July (October test).
- Submit the application form with a recent passport-style photo (3.5 × 4.5 cm) and pay the fee by the method your center accepts (check, PayPal, Venmo, etc.).
- Seats are limited and some sites close when they are full, so apply as soon as registration opens.
- Check your exam number and test site before test day, and bring your original ID.
