Learn Hangul in 30 Minutes — Free Korean Alphabet Guide
Hangul is the world's most scientific alphabet — designed in 1443 to be learned in a single day. With LUKATO's interactive lessons you can read your first Korean words in under 30 minutes.
Why Hangul is easy
Only 24 letters: 14 consonants and 10 vowels. Each consonant is shaped like the mouth that produces it. Once you learn the shapes, you can read any Korean word phonetically.
Step 1 — 10 vowels
ㅏ(a) ㅑ(ya) ㅓ(eo) ㅕ(yeo) ㅗ(o) ㅛ(yo) ㅜ(u) ㅠ(yu) ㅡ(eu) ㅣ(i). Practice each with audio in the LUKATO Hangul tracing tool.
Step 2 — 14 consonants
ㄱㄴㄷㄹㅁㅂㅅㅇㅈㅊㅋㅌㅍㅎ. Each pairs with a vowel to form a syllable block — that's the secret of Hangul.
Step 3 — Read your first words
안녕 (an-nyeong = hi), 사랑 (sa-rang = love), 김치 (kim-chi). Use our free romanizer to check yourself.
